About Founder and Coach
Michelle Naughton MS,
ACC, Reiki Master
As you consider coaching and the best partner for you, I’d like to share three things I think you should know about me that can also give you insight to my coaching approach.
Less Means More
I focus on what’s important and intentionally remove what distracts from it. When we work together, you have my full attention so we can create the most powerful, positive change. We get right down to honest conversations and meaningful work.
I See You AND Your Potential
We all belong here and to each other simply by nature of our existence. Our uniqueness is on purpose and we are happiest when we can make our mark on the world in a way that makes the world a better place.
You Can Have Your Cake and Eat It Too
Sometimes choices are necessary — but I think it’s worth questioning! At Fleche, we work together from a place of possibility toward what you want for your best life. It’s about “AND” not “or” whenever possible.
My Coaching Approach
The Path That Led Me to Coaching
It’s possible I’ve always been a coach and just didn’t know how to name it. I always had a deeply vested interest in helping my 8 brothers and sisters succeed and be their best. In truth, my siblings may not have recognized this as coaching either. I believe they referred to it as being a “bossy older sister”.
Academically, what ended up as a traditional English major, should probably have been called, The Study of Human Nature through Literature. I was deeply drawn to characters and then what these works told us about the human condition. Later, I went on to a Masters of Science in Industrial Relations from Iowa State University with an emphasis in human resources and change management within organizations — more study of people — especially as it relates to the work environment.
Professionally, I continued my “studies” with positions in Customer Service, Marketing, Project Management, and Human Resources Management. This was followed by a venture into small business ownership and then co-founding a non-profit organization where I was responsible for… you guessed it, the people! (as well as the business side of the operations.)
It wasn’t until I attended the Integrative Health Coach training at Duke Integrative Medicine that I discovered the science of coaching and truly realized that coaching is not about having all the answers for those you partner with, but helping them find their own answers. And though I had experimented with yoga and breathwork, I discovered the power of the practice of mindfulness at the same time. This is where the marriage of science and ancient wisdom began with me, and Fleche was born.
Since founding Fleche, I’ve partnered with clients around issues like:
life/work balance
choosing and pursuing new career paths
up-leveling a current work situation
entrepreneurship
creating and maintaining healthy boundaries
relationships
physical and mental well-being… and more!
I’ve also continued my own learning and development to up-level my offerings to my clients. I am a International Coaching Federation certified coach at the ACC level. I recently finished the education and practicum to become a Reiki Master as well as studied an energetic approach to coaching in the Genco Method Energetic Approach to Coaching advanced seminar.
